| REMINDER Section 43: Informal Admission of Young People A provision of the Mental Health Act 2007 concerning the informal admission of young people has now come into force. As of January 1st, capable 16 and 17 year olds who do not consent to their informal admission for treatment of a mental disorder cannot be admitted for such treatment on the basis of the consent of someone with parental authority for them.
